WORC’s Homegrown Prosperity Renewable Energy Tour has completed its 12-week journey through seven states to promote good-paying jobs and income for rural communities and offer solutions to reduce greenhouse gases and pollution.

A four-person crew, traveling in a converted school bus powered by biodiesel, participated in 82 events in 46 communities in Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Idaho, and Oregon. The results:

• Conversations with 3,600 people
• More than 1,000 signatures supporting the Call to Action
• 7,000-plus miles logged across the seven states
• News coverage by 42 radio stations, television stations, newspapers, and other media outlets

Besides using biodiesel instead of petrol diesel, the bus was equipped with a solar oven, model windmill, solar panels to power a laptop computer and a TV, and other displays.
